22 Week Skylar Update!

Everything looked "perfect" according to the Dr. yesterday at our checkup. I am still unsure how she can tell anything by just feeling my bump and listening to the hearbeat - I mean - shouldn't she do a sonogram- just so we can see that sweet little face?!

Skylar's hearbeat was a strong 146 - and I think hearing it over and over again I would never get tired of it! It is music to my ears!

She has been moving around like a CHAMP (in her daddy's words) these past two weeks - visibly moving from the outside! Nate "plays with her" every night with a flashlight. It is absolutely hilarious. He will place a flashlight on the side of my tummy where she is kicking most - and then she will push at the flashlight and move to the other side....he will repeat the process until he gets bored - which surprisingly has taken more than 2 minutes since he discovered he CAN feel her - AND see her! :)

The first few weeks I felt her move were so wierd and almost kind of creepy - now it is something I never get tired of! Between 10:30am-1 pm, from 5-7pmish and again from 10pm until I go to sleep she is SUPER active! hopefully this will work in our favor since we have schedule the 3D/4D Ultrasound for 11 am on Sept 10! Bring on the wiggles, Bean!

Speaking of sleep - I am was a belly sleeper -- until about 3 days ago I could get away with it - now as soon as I get super comfortable completely FLAT on my belly, she starts kicking up a storm! I guess trying to remind me that she is in there, and doesn't appreciate me squishing her! :)

I am starting to get excited to meet here! Her closet has several things hanging in it already! Just a few things Nate and I picked up here and there, something from my sister and Grams - and she got her first package in the mail last week with a super cute hat and "shoes" from my sweet friend Lauren who moved to California!

We haven't even started on the nursery at all, other than cleaning out the closets and adding an organizer....I feel like maybe the longer I put things off, the easier the decisions will be to make if I have no time to second guess myself? We have purchased a little wee-person chair for her, not sure yet if it will end up in the nursery or the living room - but it's just so stinkin' cute! Maybe a perfect place to take her monthly pictures during the first year??

Did I mention that I got my first Zullily purchase in the mail yesterday? It might have been better if I never got started! I have only ordered two things, the ladybug outfit pictured below, and her Christmas outfit (which isn't here yet) but has a cute "S" on it! :) I am pretty sure I am done shopping for now though - except the nursery! Promise - cross my heart! ha!

I just feel so blessed!! With every day that goes by - we are closer to meeting our sweet Skylar. Hurry up November!

Wee-person furniture is so stinkin' cute!
Can't wait to watch this fill up!
Thank you Lauren!! Love this!!

Belly Pics

I always thought pregnant bellies were so beautiful.....they are this awesome testimony about how totally and complete awesome our God is - and that he can create life within a life - they also have always symbolized being strong to me - I mean I was sure (and am completely sure now) that being pregnant is not easy - and it can't always be enjoyable to share your very personal space with someone! :) But it has been so awesome to feel this sweet little baby move inside of me! I can't describe it! It's just that - it's awesome! And now that I am looking back on these pictures I realize a couple of things...

First off-I AM growing! Despite popular belief. There is a BIG difference - and I know it will only get bigger!

Also, I am completely upset with myself for not enjoying my flatter tummy (dare I say - slightly skinny tummy) to its full potential. Yes, I should have worn those forbidden belly shirts my mom always got onto me for, and I should have run down San Jose in just a sports bra.

I feel my flat tummy days are over - but I will be posting the 7 week picture in front of a treadmill post-baby...and possibly on the refridgerator..and in the pantry next to the brownie mix.....

Anyway - so here they are, pardon the weeks with no shirt down, clearly didn't think about that either - surely Skylar will one day be grossed out by these :)

7 weeks.
9 weeks.
11 weeks.
13 weeks.
15 weeks.
17 weeks.
19 weeks.
21 weeks.

A Gymnast?!

Maybe Skylar is a gymnast? Because she is certainly flipping around in my tummy! Nate doesn't have the patience to sit there and try to see if he can feel her - he will sit with his hand on my belly for about 60 seconds -and then pull his hand away and say - "this is crazy - I can't feel anything!!" WITHOUT FAIL she kicks as soon as he moves his fingers!

I can't tell yet if he would really be able to feel her or not - maybe it's just ME being able to feel her and THINKING he would be able to??

Either way - this is one of the things that makes this entire process seem much more real -- I still can't believe this is all happening. I would also be willing to bet that I will still be saying that "I can't believe this is happening" for the next year or so of life! :)

Okay...well maybe just until the first dirty diaper.....then I will be saying it for a different reason. :)

IT'S A GIRL!!!

We are so very very very excited! I think Nate is beside himself -- he now refers to me in the plural form -- instead of "Hey baby, how's my girl?" It's "Hey babies, how are my girls?"

We have started calling "Skylar" by her name, but sometimes she is still "Bean". Ha!

We went to Target on Saturday night, to buy ONE thing each - Nate ended up with two - he couldn't decide! ha!! I think he just might be worse than me!

We are so extremely thankful for all of our wonderful family and friends who have supported us so much in the past few months! We absolutely LOVED being surrounded by everyone on Friday night as we cut the cake! Skylar is one loved little girl! I can't wait to upload some pictures! :)

Tonight is the Night!

PINK OR BLUE!!??

Boy or Girl?!?

We are both way to thrilled about being parents to really care which one - just a healthy baby is what we pray for!

I have had a "feeling" that it was a boy since the beginning...but I am not sure if it is because I know Nate would LOVE a boy, and has always wanted one -- or because of the crazy amount of "meat and potatoes" this baby has made me crave? SURELY it wouldn't be a little GIRL on the inside that is making me want to eat like a dude?

We had our appointment on Wednesday, and the Dr. said she was VERY positive of the gender...and when she wrote it in our card she licked, taped and stapled the entire card shut inside the envelope. So funny.

When I delivered the card to the bakery - the sweet girl who was helping me just peeked in, grinned and said - you are gonna be so excited! Then gave the card back to me. ha!

Every night until last night I have dreamed about a little boy! A sailboat room, and a sweet little boy running around the house with trucks and baseballs! Then LAST night I dreamed that we opened the card and it said PINK!! on the inside! So maybe it IS a girl??

Ha! Either way, we will know in a bit!

At the appointment this week - she said WOW! Great fetal movement! ha! (It might have been the fact that even mama was "all jacked up on Mountain Dew!?") I had half a mountain dew about an hour before the appointment and BOY that baby was bouncy! It made it hard to get a good face shot - but here are two of the pictures we were able to get! We have a cute little thumb sucker!
