I'm not sure how - but I blinked twice and here we are! This year feels so much older - maybe because she is gone so much for school? Maybe because she just is so much older?
We attempted an an ice cream cake for her birthday dinner - she didn't seem to mind that it melted all over the place!
On her birthday, the Ikea in Jacksonville had it's grand opening - and since she shared a "birthday" with the store - she got a giftcard! She was so excited about the gift card (she bought a book shelf) - and since they had face paint at the store - basically, it was the best birthday ever.
This year Skylar wanted a paint party. I was a little concerned about the logistics at first, because woah - paint and lots of kids seemed like a recipe for disaster - but it totally wasn't! The girls had such a good time!
I loved seeing her in her element doing something she loved with all of her friends. This girl could craft 'til the cows come home. Give her some paint, markers, and some blank canvases or paper and she is occupied for hours!

You are growing up so fast! I can't believe it's been 6 years - SIX - since you rocked our world with your entrance! Your love for life and people is something to be admired. I hope you always see people the way you see them right now - in their best light. You are quick to point out beauty and kindness in others and I can tell that love notes and positive words are your love language too. May you always march unashamedly to the beat of your own drum (you are so good at this!) and may you always find your worth in Jesus alone! I have watched you this year as you (we) have adjusted to school and how you "shine your little light" to your classmates. The way you have befriended the quieter ones and claimed them as your "very best friends" makes me so proud! I am so thankful and proud to be your mom!
